Trinamool leader arrested for raping young girl at his residence

A Trinamool Congress leader has been arrested by the West Bengal police for allegedly raping a young girl at his residence, officials said on Saturday.
The accused, Narayan Mitra, who is a trade union leader under the Trinamool, was arrested on the complaint of the survivor’s family, who alleged that Mitra raped her for 2-3 days at his house in Bankur.
An FIR was registered, and Mitra was arrested, officials said.
Subsequently, the Trinamool Congress has suspended the leader from their trade union.
